"This was our first time having fish and chips for a very long time. We ordered using the App. It was quick simple and accurate. On arrival, our food was being cooked to order, so I spoke with the owners, who were very welcoming, pleasant and helpful. Between us we had fish, chips, roe and saveloy. We thought all of the food was excellent. I'm not huge fan of batter, but I must say, the battered roe was perfect. We all really enjoyed it. We'd happily eat there again. See you next time"

"We had a special of small fish and chips with a sauce (mushy peas for me, gravy for the hubby). There was nothing small about these portions! The fish was thick and tasty and the batter crispy. The chips were chunky with a slight crispiness - no soggy chips here. All served in a cardboard box with a lemon wedge. Everything was cooked fresh but efficiently and the service was friendly. We were approached by a local on the way out who couldn’t sing their praises enough, and he was not wrong. Highly recommended."

"They do Pollock! Lovely fish and much more sustainable than cod, and cheaper too. They have a special: Pollock, chips, a pot of side (yummy peas), and a drink."

"Only visiting and came in search of breakfast but as we couldn't find anywhere with space we waited for The Codfather to open. The welcome was fantastic and we sat in the window. As we went in as they opened we sat a good time on our own until after 12pm when people started to come in mainly for take aways. Lovely and clean if not a bit on the chilly side. The food came and looked lovely and big portions for the money, unfortunately I found a large bone and another smaller one in the fish which can happen but due to being very tickled stomach meant I didn't eat anymore so took it back for the dog as it was a shame to just leave it as it was cooked beautifully."

"After 2 recommendations my son bought fish/chip special for the family. They cooked fresh while you waited. So it was fresh,hot,tasty and not at all greasy. The fish batter was so light and the fish melted in your mouth.The staff were super friendly and courteous. Will definitely go back again."
